Pre-conference workshop 2012

01 March 2016

The GOC was appointed by the WCC-EAA International Reference Group in January 2016. The GOC plans the Interfaith Pre-Conference and sets the overall direction, priorities, policies and related planning for faith-based activities coordinated and supported by the WCC-EAA at AIDS 2016.

Coordinating with the Local Host Committee (LHC), these activities aim to:

  • Provide opportunities for networking, sharing of experiences and capacity building for faith-based representatives attending AIDS 2016
  • Facilitate faith-based advocacy with a common voice in the run-up to and during the conference
  • Provide space and technical assistance to representatives of faith-based organizations organizing and sponsoring their own activities at AIDS 2016
  • Provide orientation for representatives of faith-based organizations attending the conference, including by disseminating information about faith-based activities at AIDS 2016

The WCC-EAA is very grateful for the commitment and willingness of GOC members to contribute their time and expertise to make faith-based participation at AIDS 2016 meaningful and effective.
