At AIDS 2016 on Tuesday, The Most Rev'd Thabo Makgoba, Anglican Archbishop of Cape Town, visited the Faith Networking Zone at the Global Village, reaching out as well to those at the Sex Worker Networking Zone across the aisle.

A bridging session held later in the day highlighted the challenges and opportunities of faith-based responses to HIV, with Azza Karam, UNFPA; Rev. Phumzile Mabizela, INERELA+; Anggia Ermarini, Fatayat NU, Indonesia; Archbishop Makgoba and Dr Luiz Loures, UNAIDS.

The day ended with a moving interfaith prayer service at the Emmanuel Cathedral in Durban.
